Mrs. Claudie Gaskins Parker age 88, went to her Heavenly Home on October 11 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Union Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Rev. Paige Wheeler and Rev. Charlie Short will officiate.

Mrs. Parker was born in McBee a daughter of the late Mike and Lizzie Reynolds Gaskins. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women’s organization and a member of the Lore McCoy Sunday School Class. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking cakes for others.

Surviving are two daughters, Delores (Michael) Hickey, Hartsville and Deborah (Dennis) Outlaw, Bethune; one son, Chris (Meredith) Parker, Hartsville; seven grandchildren, Emily (Harold) Winburn, Brad Outlaw, David (Sharon) Outlaw, Kaitlin (Chase) Hughes, Meredith (Jason) Murray, Lynn (Justin) Cox, and Abby Parker; eight great grandchildren, Garret (Abby) Winburn, Natalee Winburn, Sarah Grace Outlaw, Troy William Outlaw, Waylon Hughes, Hayden Hughes, Wyatt Cox and Archer Murray; two sisters, Joyce Perdue, Bethune and Ruth (Billy) Dowey, Lugoff; two brothers, Roy (Frankie) Gaskins, Bethune and Grady Gaskins, McBee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Watkins Parker; two brothers, Bobby Gaskins and J.C. Gaskins; one sister, Dorothy Mozingo.
