Claudia Moore McKenzie, 97

Claudia Moore McKenzie, a lifelong resident of Lee County and daughter of the late Wesley Preston and Ruth Field Moore, passed away on March 2, 2018 at the age of 97. She is survived by a brother, Heyward Moore of Bishopville, SC, three children, Kay Elmore of Bishopville, SC, James "Butch" (Doris) McKenzie of Lugoff, SC and Errol (Harriett) McKenzie of Martin, GA. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, all living. She was the wife of the late James Wallace McKenzie, Jr. and was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Wesley P Moore of Darlington, SC, Gordon B. Moore of Camden, SC, Robert E. Moore of Bishopville, SC, James T. Moore of Bishopville, SC and Bernard B. Moore of Florida and 2 sisters, Miriam Newsome, of Hartsville SC and Georgia Woodham of Bishopville, SC and a daughter Hilda Whitaker of Tybee Island, GA

She was a wonderful wife, mother and a friend to all. She was a positive influence on everyone and each person she touched was far richer from the experience. She was known as "Granny" to family, friends and co-workers alike.

She was adored by all and will be missed by many.

A celebration of her life will be held at Ashland Methodist Church, 3029 East Kelly Bridge Road,Bishopville, SC 29010 at 11:00 am on March 10, 2018.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Kershaw Health Home Health and Hospice, 1165 Hwy 1 South 400, Lugoff, SC 29078.
