Chris Hammond Tallon, Sr.

Chris Tallon, a man known for his punctuality, arrived early for every event in his life, including his final journey, which he embarked upon on the morning of September 05, 2023. Born in Hartsville and raised on Barefoot Street, he carried his roots proudly, often forgoing shoes unless absolutely necessary.

Settling on Pecan Drive, Chris spent the entirety of his adult life there, becoming renowned for his strong work ethic. He was a master machinist, contributing his expertise to numerous power plants along the East Coast. However, his heart belonged to the open road and the distinctive rumble of Harley Davidson motorcycles, with his Road King Classic holding a special place in his heart. Chris also held a deep passion for classic cars, often drifting into dreams of cruising in them while reclining in his favorite chair.

Chris Tallon is survived by his two beloved children, Alisha York, his eldest daughter, and Chris Tallon Jr., his youngest son, as well as his cherished grandson, Jayce Tallon. He also leaves behind his elder brother, Demp Tallon, elder sister, Ann Keith, and youngest sister, Renee Peavy, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Father Eugene Tallon and Mother Nora Tallon.

Chris was a man who danced to the beat of his own drum, and many knew him as different in the best possible way. He faced his fair share of worldly struggles but excelled as a father, a wild spirited uncle, and a kind, loving brother. If he had a fault, it was that he loved with a magnitude that the world often struggled to reciprocate.

After years of wrestling with life's challenges, Chris found the peace he sought, holding his son's hand on that September morning. As we reflect on the life of Chris Tallon, may we celebrate the uniqueness of his journey and the profound love he shared, even if he sometimes found it difficult to accept in return.
