Charlotte Mims King, 86, passed away on September 21, 2015, surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born on July 5, 1929 in Darlington County, and was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Maggie Hill Mims. She attended Lydia High School and was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church. She loved her church, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24th at Mt. Elon Baptist Church. The Rev. Rob Brazell will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery directed byNorton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Surviving are her husband of 68 years: Herbert L. King Jr. Children: Dianne (Tom) Rosenquist, Omaha, NE;Herby (Teresa) King, Lydia, SC;Ted (Laura) King, Marietta, GA;Randy (Kay) King, Pendleton, SC. Grandchildren: Kevin Eckard, Daniel King, Jonathan King, Caroline (CJ) Johnson, Kathryn King, Brian (Jennifer) King, Jacob King, Will King, Gunnar Rosenquist,Frank (Annmarie) Rosenquist. Great grandchildren: Eric Eckard, Dylan Johnson, Elizabeth King, Megan Rosenquist, Thomas Rosenquist, Ava Rosenquist.Siblings: Twin brother Charles (Doris) Mims, Darlington, SC;brother Joe Mims, Florence, SC. She had many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dwight Mims andGary Mims; sisters, Margaret Johnson, Eunice McFarland Jordan, Grace Jordan, Elizabeth Lee, and Jeanette Mims. Memorials may be made to Mt. Elon Baptist Church, Box 38, Lydia, SC 29079. Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the King family.
