Charles Eugene Horton

Mr. Charles Eugene Horton, 70, of McBee, passed away Friday evening, May 29th, 2020, while at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Monday afternoon, June 1st, 2020, from McBee Cemetery with Reverend Tim Williams and Reverend Duane Stegal officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the graveside.  Friends may pay their respects Monday morning, from 9 until 12 noon at Norton Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong resident of McBee, Mr. Horton was a son of the late Daniel G. & Flora Johnson Horton.  Charles retired from Sonoco Products Company after 20 plus years of service and attended Beauford Baptist Church.  He also enjoyed working on his tractors.

Surviving are his brother, Gilbert Horton and Gail of McBee; sister-in-law, Gaynelle Horton of McBee; nephews: Dennis (Gedelle) Horton of Hartsville, Donald Ray (Jan) Horton of McBee, Mike Horton of McBee, Todd Horton of McBee, Terry Horton of Hartsville, Andy Hargett of Matthews, North Carolina; niece, Tina Hargett of Matthews, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert M. Horton; sister, Irene H. Hargett; and brother-in-law, Arvin Hargett.
