Mr. Charles Aubrey Mixon, 79, of McBee, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday morning, October 2nd, 2021, while at McLeod Health of Florence.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 on Tuesday afternoon, October 5th, 2021, from McBee Presbyterian Church with Reverend Mark Dickinson officiating. The family will be receiving friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Mixon was born in Hartsville, but resided in McBee for many years. Aubrey was the founder of the Dixie Youth Baseball of McBee and retired from logging; a career he greatly loved. He was known for taking care of others, whether family or not. Aubrey loved buying peaches from McLeod Farms and delivering them to people throughout not only the community, but also to other states. He and one of his friends bought and cut Hickory Wood to be taken to New York City to be installed in Trump Tower. He will be remembered by his family as always being there and making sure their every need was met.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ginger Rhoad Mixon of the home; children, Chuck (Tiffany) Mixon and Tracie (Bryan) Woodward both of Hartsville; grandchildren: Kayla (Ben) Pettis, Brandon (Katherine) Woodward, Jordan Mixon, Payton Mixon, Emily Jay Mixon; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Reagan Pettis.
