Charles Foye Byrd, age 86, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Hartsville, passed away June 22, 2024, while at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Wednesday June 26 at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Brad Griese will officiate. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Foye was born in Hartsville, a son of the late David Byrd and Lillie Hall Byrd. He retired from McLean Trucking Company and DuPont (Sentinel Transportation Company). He was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughters, Karon Byrd Scarborough (Dean) of Hartsville, S.C. and Karla Byrd Beard (Walt) of Sumter, S.C.; four grandchildren, Ashley Scarborough Previtte (Sam) of Concord, N.C., Amanda Scarborough of Charleston, S.C., Kassidy Beard and Drew Beard of Sumter, S.C.

In addition to his parents (listed above) he was preceded in death by a brother Otis Byrd (Annie); sister Catherine Byrd Walters (Edward) of Hartsville.
