Funeral services for Carl Eddie Amerson, Sr. age 75, will be held Thursday at 4:00 at the Hartsville Advent Christian Church Rev. Charles McLendon and Rev. Rob Teal will officiate. Burial will be in the Odom Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Eddie was born in Darlington a son of the late Carl Major Amerson and Pauline Goodson Amerson Ruther. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company after 39 years of service where he served as a Volunteer Fireman, was a member of the Old Timers Club and the Hartsville Advent Christian Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher and Elder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Cross Amerson, Hartsville; three sons, Carl Eddie (Tonya) Amerson, Jr., Hartsville, Glenn (Jenny) Amerson, Hartsville and Devion Amerson, Hartsville; three daughters, Caroline Kelly (Jordan and Savannah), Hartsville, Pam (Robert) Millard, Hope Mills, N.C. and Karen (Robert Sager) Amerson, Timmonsville; one brother, Butch (Frances) Amerson, Florence; two sisters, Ann Jackson, Florence and Vivian Perkins, Kingstree; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ryder and Geraldine Fisher.
