View Remembrance Video Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Byrnes D. (Smitty) Smith, age 80, who passed away October 5, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 at West Hartsville Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Walters & Rev. Grover Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 at the Funeral Home. Smitty was born in Conway, a son of the late Samuel T. & Ruth Phipps Smith. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company. He loved Bass Fishing at Lake Wateree and Santee, the Clemson Tigers and Blue Grass Music. He loved giving Lollipops to children and pretty ladies. His favorite place was Hardees with his special friends. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Linda (Lynn) Northcutt Smith, Hartsville; one brother, Francis Horace (Betty Rose) Smith, Irmo; three sisters in laws, Betty Smith, Monroe, N.C., Margaret Smith, Columbia and Debbie (Bobby) Northcutt Galloway, Hartsville; brother In Law & sister In Law, Mike & Brenda Northcutt, Hartsville; several nieces & nephews. A special thanks to McLeod Oncology and Hematology Associates and especially Dr. Bajaj, Carol, Wendy and Jennifer for the special care which they gave Mr. Byrnes.
