Brockie Hopkins, Jr

Funeral services for Brockie Hopkins, Jr. age 75, will be held Saturday at 11:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Enlow and Rev. Eddie Watford will officiate. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 pm at the funeral home and at other times at his residence at 2221 West Old Camden Road, Hartsville, S.C.

Brockie was born in Hartsville a son of the late David Brock and Eadie Bell Hall Hopkins. He was retired from Sonoco Transportation and Wal Mart Transportation as a truck driver. He was a member of the Lake Robinson Independent Baptist Church. He also was a Deputy Sheriff for four years and started the Dare Program and Scared Stiff Program in Darlington County. He was a loving son, father, brother and grandfather and touched everyone’s heart.

Surviving are one son, Rodney (Cyndi) Hopkins, Hartsville; two sisters, Sharon (Terry) Matheny, Florence and Sandra Faye Hopkins, Hartsville; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Jensen and Johanna Hopkins; Ashleigh & Daniel Briske. He was preceded in death by five brothers, William E, Pete, Theodore, LaHarve and David Brantley Hopkins and one sister Ida Mae Hopkins.
