Brenda Kennedy

Graveside services of Remembrance for Brenda Elease Kennedy age 74 will be held 4:00pm Thursday at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Pastor Brad Griese will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville Chapel.  The family will visit with friends following the services.

She was born in Camden, SC the daughter of the late Johnnie E. and Marion Dennis Thompson.

After graduation High School she joined the US Army and served one year before moving to Yakima, Washington to start her family.  She enjoyed reading and watching National and World News.  She kept up with politics and studied past presidencies.  Brenda would end each day watching The Walton’s.  She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clay (Kerry) Kennedy, Yakima, Washington, Jeff (Ashley) Kennedy, Yakima, Washington; grandchildren, Paige, Ryan and Colin all of Yakima, Washington; nieces, Missy (Ron) Fountain, Bishopville, Crystal (Roger) Johnson, McBee, Miranda (Douglas) Horton, Bethune; nephews, Michael Thompson, Hartsville, Paul (Brandie) Thompson, Florence, Mitchell (Megan) Thompson, McBee; many great nieces and nephews; sister in law Carolyn Cassidy, Chesterfield, brother in law, William Sullivan, Bethune; beloved pet chihuahua Bella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenny Thompson; sister Joyce Sullivan.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Crescent Hospice and First Light Home Care (especially Lorinda Elliott).
