Brantley Kendrick "Ricky" Gainey, Sr.

Mr. Brantley Kendrick “Ricky” Gainey, Sr., 64, of Hartsville, passed away Sunday evening, June 11^th, 2023, while at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, GA.

A native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, Mr. Gainey was a son of Dollie McElveen Gainey and the late, Ward Bennett Gainey.  He was the owner of Brantley Gainey Builder; building over 200 homes in the Hartsville area.  Later in life, he opened and operated the Sign Zone.  Ricky was an avid NASCAR fan and loved golfing.  He enjoyed being outside and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Sonja Munn Gainey of the home; children: Brantley (Lindsi) Gainey, Jr. of Hartsville and Kelli Gainey (Stephen) Solly of Belmont, NC; grandchildren: Landon Gainey, Brayden Gainey, Kennedi Gainey, Logan Solly, and Colton Solly; mother of Hartsville; siblings: Byron (Melissa) Gainey of Charleston, Tonda (Joey) McLeod of McBee, and Kevin (Pandora) Gainey of Florence.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family invites friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening, June 14^th, 2023, from 5-7 at Norton Funeral Home.
