Betty Walters

Hartsville, S.C.

Betty Dale Walters, passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2017 at the age of 83. Betty was born in Hartsville, the only child of the late Clifton (Cliff) Walters and Edna Rivers Walters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 5:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Ms. Margaret Podschweit and Dr. Ernest Winburn will officiate. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist church, where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class, God’s Special People. Betty was never able to attend School, but was self-taught in many ways. She spent many hours copying scripture from the Bible. She loved word puzzle books, putting puzzles together, playing cards, coloring, listening to country music and singing. Betty was a very loving person, loved attention and had a great memory. She had the lifelong heart of a child. Betty will be missed.

Surviving are several cousins with two of them being really special to her. She loved going to the home of Linda Segars for holidays, birthdays and just to spend the day. She looked forward to seeing Sylvia Ewing there also, especially if she brought her a surprise.
