Ann Sowell

Services for Ann Melton Sowell age 77 will be held 3:00pm Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Great Heights Baptist Church.  Pastor Danny Holley will officiate.  Burial will be in the McBee Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00pm Tuesday at the church.

Ann passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center with her loving family by her side.  She was born in McBee the daughter of the late May Tyson and Margaret Ann Huggins Melton.  She was a member of Greater Heights Baptist Church.  Ann enjoyed working in her yard and gardening, she loved her two cats.  She had a love for children and truly enjoyed her time being a mentor to them.  She deeply loved and cared for her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Don Sowell, McBee; daughter, Donna (John) Catoe, McBee; son, William (Tanya) Sowell, Cassatt; brothers, Wayne (Beth) Melton, Rock Hill, Don (Mary Kay) Melton, Hartsville, Mack Melton, Pageland, Vernon (Patricia) Melton, Lucknow, Tony (Mitzie) Melton, Florence; sisters, Arlene (Jackie) McCaskill, Camden, Edna Jean O’Neal, Lake City, Marie (Steven) Butler, Darlington; grandchildren, Justin Sowell, Caitlin Majors, Josh Branham, Lucas Catoe, Matthew Sowell, Rachel Sowell; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Majors and Dawsen Branham.
