Angelo Bevilacqua

     Angelo Bevilacqua, age 80, died peacefully at Pruitt Health, Columbia, SC on February 13th, 2024. Born on February 2nd, 1944, in Taranto, Italy, he is preceded in death by his father and mother, Arcangelo and Ida Bevilacqua.

     Angelo’s childhood was spent in Taranto, Italy where his love of the ocean, travel, and cooking developed. After serving in the Italian navy as a Lieutenant and deep-sea diver Angelo studied culinary arts at Turino University in Italy. Angelo spent a large portion of his life travelling and working within the restaurant field as an executive chef and restauranteur in places such as Geneva, Lake Como, Algiers, and Vienna. Angelo owned his own restaurant in Edinburgh, Scotland and was head butler for the once Ambassador of Canada in NYC. His travels took him from Scotland to the United States where he settled for a time in the Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania. He eventually moved to the Charleston area, SC where he owned an Italian restaurant on the Isle of Palms. When not working Angelo loved to spend time outdoors, especially in his garden, and on the beach, fishing and walking his dogs.

     Survivors include his four children and six grandchildren whom he loved in his own way. Son Giulio Bevilacqua and his wife Jennifer who reside in Mars, PA, and their three children, Brandt, Bowen, and Mirabella. Daughter Licia (Bevilacqua) Paulus and husband Christian in Bethlehem, PA and their three children; Ryder, Cash, and Mazzi. Son Angelo T. Bevilacqua in Newport Beach, CA, and daughter Alexia (Bevilacqua) Price and husband Dylan in Cherry Hill, NJ. He is also survived by his sister Maria and brother-in-law Ernesto in Taranto, Italy.

     No funeral services are planned at this time.
