James Larry Driggers was called home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2017. Larry was born in Darlington County on September 17, 1946 to the late James and Cora Driggers. Larry had an extraordinary zest for life and lived his to the fullest. He exceeded doctor's expectations by doing things he was told he would never be able to, living 60 years longer than expected due to having Cerebral Palsy. Larry was a bit of a town legend and was even given the nickname of "Bicycle Cowboy." He could be seen all over Hartsville and the surrounding areas riding his treasured bicycle(s). He never met a stranger and loved to tell everyone of his riding accomplishments. Larry was a die hard Nascar and wrestling fan.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his nephew, Doug Winburn. Mr. Driggers is survived by his beloved sister and caretaker of 35 years, Phyllis Driggers Braddock. His nieces, Sheila Atkinson and Nikki Braddock, both of Hartsville. His great nieces Kelli (Stewart) Funderburk, Jordan Atkinson and Kori Hoover, all of Hartsville. He also leaves behind many other loved ones, both family and friends, including two special people who were very dear to his heart, Mike and Renee Gainey. A special thanks to the staff at Morrell Nursing Home for taking such good care of Larry the last 2 years of his life.

Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville is honored to be caring for the Driggers family.
